Sporting Club Byron

Sporting Club Byron is an elite sports club in its sixth year of running consisting of 22 pupils. Pupils are selected based on sporting ability that has been identified during PE lessons and trials. Upon joining, they will be asked to sign a commitment contract and the children themselves will take part in their own performance reviews. 

The club runs two dedicated training sessions each week (Mondays and Wednesday). These will include ‘Master Classes’ from specialist coaches across a number of sports. The club will also attend several sporting events including Hockey, Basketball, Netball, Table Tennis, Cricket and Football.

Last academic year we had multiple top ten finishes with basketball, hockey and table tennis. This year, we have challenged the group by entering the cup competitions.

The school is given an amount of money each year which it can only spend on sport.  We have budgeted to spend some of this money on Sporting Club Byron. The club has its own identity and logo which you can see on the training kit and at the top of the school’s newsletters. However, this year, Sporting Club Byron are lucky enough to have gained sponsorship from Amaro who have paid for all of the children’s training tops and NCompass London Ltd for waterproof coats. We are incredibly grateful for your support.
